Job Description:

This role will be based in Edenvale

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

To partner business and provide aligned and compliant Human Resources support and services to all employees to increase organisational effectiveness. To ensure sound employee relations by guiding business in the use of best HR practices. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensuring Data accuracy on HR systems.
  • Recruitment: Assisting managers with the completion of the Job adverts, co-ordination of interviews, drafting of interview guides, interviewing with Line Manager, ensuring the relevant checks are completed and checking that the contract is accurate.
  • Take-on of new employees: Explaining the Contract of Employment, assisting with the completion of the take-on pack and loading of new employees onto the HR system.
  • Completion of the termination process for employees including completion of termination pack, retirement withdrawal forms and exit interviews
  • Providing advice on employee relations to Managers and employees in line with company policies, labour laws and NBCRFI Main Agreement as reference.
  • Guiding and co-ordinating disciplinary action
  • Drafting of warnings and notice to attend
  • Representing at conciliation and preparing for arbitrations
  • Liaising with the union
  • Guiding & co-ordinating grievance procedures
  • Assisting with company initiatives such as team events, wellness days etc
  • Acting as the contact person between business and the HR shared services departments
  • Co-ordinate and manage the Employment Equity committee
  • Dealing with all HR-related queries

Job Requirements:

Job-related minimum Requirements: 

  • 3 years HR Generalist experience
  • 2 year Exposure to Labour Law, Employment Equity
  • Degree / Diploma in HR or related
  • Strong IR knowledge
  • Experience with NBCRFLI will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of payroll processes, employee wellness, retirement funds, training
  • Understanding of objectives, strategies and structures within a business
  • Sound knowledge of Employment Equity, Labour Relations, BCEA and all employment related legislation
  • Own Vehicle and Driver’s License
  • Ability to travel locally
  • Ability to speak  African languages
