Job Description:

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Group Corporate Services Executive is a newly established position which will report to the Deputy Group Chief Executive and will partner regularly with the Senior Executives in the Group. The incumbent will lead and manage Group Corporate Services (comprising the HR, IT, Governance, Internal Audit, Risk & Sustainability and PR/Comms functions) to ensure the provision of efficient and effective services to the Group in accordance with business and legislative requirements. The Group Corporate Services Executive plays a critical role in the Senior Leadership team and will contribute to building the strategic direction in addition to being a hands-on and participative lead that develops high performing teams to support the strategy and performance of the business globally.

SPECIFIC OUTCOMES / ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Oversee the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans of the respective functions comprising the Corporate Services in accordance with Group strategic business objectives and legislation.
  • Analysis of functional performance and identification of value enhancement opportunities.
  • Review, develop and monitor Group Corporate Services (HR, IT, Audit, Risk & Sustainability, Governance, PR & Communications) best practice.
  • For each of the Corporate Services, support the Deputy Group Chief Executive in communicating strategy and progress in implementation thereof to the Board and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee the implementation of various initiatives within the Corporate Services functions that are required to drive the broader organisational vision and strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree augmented by a post-graduate qualification in Business, Commerce or Management
  • 10 years of Executive level experience in a complex organisation
  • Relevant experience and demonstrated capability to lead the functions comprising Group Corporate Services
  • Thorough understanding of King IV governance principles
  • Proven contributor as a Corporate executive
  • Expert level of policy development skills, facilitation and influencing skills
  • Advanced level of strategic planning, business process-engineering, performance improvement processes and organisational development
  • Cultural awareness of diverse member representation
  • Extensive systems implementation, change management and project management experience
  • Demonstrated capacity to work in a manner that preserves confidentiality and seeks to minimise business risk
  • Pharma industry or Aspen exposure a plus
  • Self-starter that adapts well to change in a fast-paced, dynamic workplace
  • Strategic thinker, strong problem solving and influencing skills
  • Ability to independently handle a range of complex issues and multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent writing skills for crafting scripts, presentations, corporate messaging, etc.
  • Effective and articulate communicator
  • Confident and strong presentation skills and the ability to effectively build and maintain relationships across all organizational levels
  • Great attitude, willingness to perform and get things done
